Easy Pilgrim Pasta Sauce

1 small cebolla (onion) diced
2 cloves ajo (garlic) minced
1 small Italian pepper diced
1 small tomato
1 small box tomato sauce
1/2 lb (about a handful) ground beef from carneceria
Olive oil

Heat the olive oil in a skillet and sauté on LOW heat until onion caramelizes.

Add garlic and pepper and cook until soft.

Add chopped tomato. Cook until soft.

Add ground beef. Cook until no longer red.

Add tomato sauce and just enough water to make a thick sauce. Simmer while you cook your pasta.

Put sauce over pasta. Serve with local bread and a glass of wine.

This makes enough for two hungry pilgrims or for two meals.

Cost:  Under 5 euros

  1. I need to be taking notes from your blogs about alberques and recipes for pasta sauce. This looks and sounds delicious especially the part about the wine. How bout adding a little to the sauce?
