VDLP 2013: Nice Folks in Villafranca de los Barros

For the most part, everyone I have met on the VDLP has been very nice.

For instance, there was Juan from Mexico
and Lisa from the USA who cooked and shared a great dinner in Villafranca!
Juan made Tortilla, ensalada, and asparagus.
Lisa helped and I did some washing up.

Some folks think the Camino is going to be like a fairy tale.
The truth is, you will meet all sorts of people, some nice and some a bit off!

So just go with no expectations and you will do fine.

Me?
I'm going to do my best to walk away from mean guys for the rest if the trip.

Here is a photo of Juan, a nice guy, and the meal he shared.

  1. Just discovered your blog. I'm enjoying the practical details and photos. Brings back many happy memories. I'll be finishing my final stage from Puebla de Sanabria in July. Keep up the good work!

  3. First time I hear of a menu that does not include beverage, which usually is either a bottle of water or wine. Hope it's not like that up ahead. I am used to that kind of menu

  4. Bakersfield is an oil town with lots of people who survived the Great Depression and their children and grandchildren. The people are known to be tough. They don't back down. Lol! My mom's family are Bakersfield folk. I guess it comes naturally. I do my best to control it, but when someone gets right up into my face, well... It's 'interesting.'
